East Ramapo Central School District / Office of Funded Programs Summer School Programs for Non -Public Schools2006 –2007
Stay tune to this site for further information about the programs that the East Ramapo Central School District will offer the non-public school students for the summer of 2006-2007. SUMMER CAME... but the ERCSD’s commitment to its goal of continuously enhancing the education of the students in the non-public school sector took no vacation. To this end, we again offered exciting and worthwhile programs particularly geared to those youngsters who needed an extra helping hand.
Two types of programs took place. One was the Summer Slingerland® Literacy Training Program, which trains teachers in a multi-sensory language arts program. The program included the participation of children, providing a dual benefit of training teachers and aiding students who could use a boost in their reading skills. This was the 6th year of the successful Slingerland® Summer Program, which trains teachers in a systematic, developmental approach to teaching language arts.
The second was the free summer math and reading programs. These programs were for non-public school students who are East Ramapo residents.
Following were the criteria and procedures for joining the programs and the schedules.
